Temple of Dawn – Wat Arun

The painting of Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn in watercolor on Moulin du Roy 300gsm rough grain watercolor paper with Escoda watercolor brushes.

This one posed a bit of a challenge because I was over thinking the details I thought I should include.

But in the end, it turned out quite well so I’m happy.

[Video] Painting in progress

By: Morgan Thanarojpradit
Camera: Canon EOS M100
Medium: Watercolor
Size: 5×6 in
Paper: Khadi 300 gsm

Learning: It’s not everyday that I would take a video of my painting progress but I want to try new things.

While the result wasn’t too bad, there are a lot of rooms for improvement.

The angle is not very good. It would be better if I can take the video from over-the-top angle. I’ll see how I can rearrange things to do that in the next video.

The lighting source is too flat and harsh and I only have one light source. It would be great if I can get one of those circular light the photographers use but if I do now, I really don’t know where I’m going to put it. There’s a big limitations in terms of space in my room. So we’ll see what else I can do to fix that for now.

Any suggestions? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Hope you’ll enjoy this video.
