Mood painting

A watercolor painting called Swallowed

By: Morgan Thanarojpradit
Medium: Watercolor
Size: A5
Paper: Canson sketchbook 90 gsm

It’s interesting how sometimes the painting, especially the choices of colors, reflects what the artist feel inside at that specific moment.

Painting, like writing, is another peek into one’s soul I suppose.

[Video] Painting in progress

By: Morgan Thanarojpradit
Camera: Canon EOS M100
Medium: Watercolor
Size: 5×6 in
Paper: Khadi 300 gsm

Learning: It’s not everyday that I would take a video of my painting progress but I want to try new things.

While the result wasn’t too bad, there are a lot of rooms for improvement.

The angle is not very good. It would be better if I can take the video from over-the-top angle. I’ll see how I can rearrange things to do that in the next video.

The lighting source is too flat and harsh and I only have one light source. It would be great if I can get one of those circular light the photographers use but if I do now, I really don’t know where I’m going to put it. There’s a big limitations in terms of space in my room. So we’ll see what else I can do to fix that for now.

Any suggestions? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Hope you’ll enjoy this video.

All learnings are challenging

Flat brush practice in watercolor

By: Morgan Thanarojpradit
Medium: Watercolor
Size: 9×12 in
Paper: Moulin du Roy 300gsm

Learning: This week I got to learn to paint with flat brushes which I have to say screwed up my head quite a bit. However, I can sort of see the charm in using flat brushes in this piece.
